Primary technical support for Catalog Creator is by e-mail. You can send us a screen shot of the topic in question by pressing the Alt and Print Screen keys (Alt+PrtScn) at the same time. This will save a copy of the current window in memory. Open your e-mail program and press the Control and V keys (Ctrl+V) at the same time, to paste this image into the body of your message. This will help us provide a solution in the shortest possible time. We'll normally respond within the hour or by the following morning at the latest. We're on the West Coast and our office hours are 8:30 to 4:30 PST.

The most common problem with any software which uses photos is the size of the photo. A photo directly out of a digital camera will typically be in the range of 800Kb to 5,000Kb and each photo on a page has to be loaded into your computer's memory at the same time. If you have 6, 8 or more photos on a page, you could quickly use up your computer's resources.

Photos can often be reduced to between 10Kb and 50Kb without affecting printed quality. For reducing file sizes, we recommend OmniFormat. This utility can quickly resize an entire folder of image files in one step.

Categories get mixed together when I print using the Compact option.
When Previewing or Printing multiple categories, Catalog Creator uses the T.O.C. (Table of Contents) order number to sort categories. Check that each category has a unique number.

I don't see all my items when looking at a Print Preview on the Formatting form.
Previewing pages, especially those with many images, uses a lot of memory. To limit the amount of memory used and reduce the possibility of a memory-related crash, Catalog Creator restricts the number of items previewed from the design-related pages (Page Setup, Formatting, etc). To preview a complete category, use the Print Preview button on any of the data-related pages (Printing Menu, Category Editor, etc).
